Here is how to make your relationship last

Here is how to make your relationship last
Love never fails; it’s the reason we have to make it work. Recently a woman was explaining the importance of communication in relationships using her marriage as an example. She said that her husband once told her that her long night dresses bruise him.Obvoiusly the point the man was passing on is for her to change her closet to accommodate short dresses. To him she looked better in short night dresses but she had no idea. Relationships last because of compromise and patience. All people are different. Always ensure that the communication between spouses does not breakdown. If this couple was not talking, would they learn to work out differences? Couples in lasting relationships talk about everything including their dislikes all the time. Discussing openly about relationship challenges starts from couples being real about each other. Secrecy has no place in any health relationship.
Even long distance relationships can not fail. Even the long distance relationship case study of Burundi has provided that if something is meant to be, it will always be. The coup attempt failed even when the world thought it was successful. You need to get real with love and fight with reality if you want to last. Get in the habit of making promises. Do not go back in time and change the reasoning after a break up. You always make the best decision you can at that time with the information you have. You fall in love because you feel someone is special and so keep the promise unconditionally.
Spend more time together. This will help you bond. It does not have to be an expensive night out. You can schedule regular activities together as a couple like jogging, brisk walking, and watching movies. This gives you more time to learn your loved one and bond.
Learn to support your partner overcome their weaknesses. Do not dramatize their mistakes. If they do apologize forget it even happened. It is nagging to keep bringing up past issues that are presumed solved. This is likely to bring up trust issues. It makes the other person feel uncomfortable in a relationship. They may move out.
Success in love is not about the looks, and finances. You need to have a strategy that is based on respect and commitment. Discuss the terms and expectations of the relationship as a couple. These terms can be on sex life, children, family, finances, and work. There is no such a thing like unconditional love. Always set terms and conditions otherwise adultery may be acceptable.
Love is a sacrifice, and you need to lay down everything for it to work. Love should be love. Leave the rest of your reservation about love as mathematical equations for God to solve. Always seek to know more about relationship and handle misunderstanding as they happen. Never save them for another day. Remember whoever believes in true love, believes the impossible .Take an initiative as a couple to get people to mentor you in relationships. Identify a married couple that has already been there to be accountable to. Ask them to be your mentors. They will always offer guidance and direction to you on how to last in relationships.

Africell Telecom shocks on alleged racism and poor employee relations

Africell Telecommunication Company Uganda got entangled in negative publicity just as it continues to rebrand from orange. Negative publicity started with a Uganda website the insider story. This was after Africell Uganda Telecommunication Company laid off 59 Ugandan workers and allegedly replaced them with Lebanese nationals. This fueled racism discussions online. This was a rather bad time as it coincided with xenophobic attacks in South Africa. The Story alleged that those who were fired were not given satisfactory explanations raising concerns of poor employee relations.
This crisis went viral because it was in the court of public opinion which reacts with emotions not logic. The Ugandan website leaked an email communication between Africell Telecom Uganda and a renown Ugandan Communication specialist Simon Kaheru. Simon is on board to manage their organisational change communication needs. People started attacking Simon Kaheru.  Simon Kaheru should however be credited for his expert responses during the trying time. He was consistent with his message and his responses were not out of anger. He intellectually challenged those with racism evidence to come forward.
The leaked mail however projects Africell in a negative way and no one seems to comment on the incident. We are in the era of cyber threats. Are they weaknesses with Africell cyber security? Africell needs to reassure their clientele that their data and internet platforms are secure. Africell needed to communicate what they have done on that security breach if it indeed happened. This scandal had much coverage online but Ugandan local newspapers did not give it any attention. This obviously points to the question of newsworthiness.
Africell has not bothered to explain itself extensively on the matter. Africell failed to give detailed responses to all allegations. It offered a general statement failed to use their facts to counter react to all the allegations on case by case. Africell could give a round figure of terminal benefits paid and when.
They released a statement on their Facebook page which was not dated or signed off by any Africell Uganda manager. Africell Uganda Telecommunication Facebook page describes the recent racist allegations as ridiculous and preposterous. The crisis has given rise to other   bad speculative stories regarding the telecom operations. There are rumours online about Africell Uganda considering closure or buy out. Africell Uganda has since responded and said it is still in Uganda. Some people continue to push for boycott of   products from Africell because of the crisis.
The Crisis common hashtag was #ExposeAfricell.AFricell Uganda Telecom has an ongoing campaign where they subscribers have free calls every night with no limitations. The PR team at the telecom could rely on this to build goodwill.
A disgruntled former employee is more dangerously than competition. They can disrupt business operations .Organisation must learn to manage staff exits  better so as to reduce on the possibility of them becoming disgruntled. This can cause disruptions in business.
It is common to have resistance to change but Africell change might have been poorly presented. Restructuring is understandable given their struggling financial situation. With any change comes panic. Staffs who have achieved status see any new plan as a threat. The incident still shows the weak Uganda civil society. Opposition and labour unions did not pick interest in the matter.

If I was Anita Fabiola’s PR consultant on her leaked nude pictures

Social media, newspapers and websites have been taken by storm with discussions related to alleged leaked nude pictures of Popular TV personality Anita Kyalimpa Fabiola. In Africa, nudity is unacceptable outside the bedroom. Anita hosts the  NTV show ‘Be my date’ .A look at the pictures gives an impression that there must have be a photographer besides the selfies. Fabiola’s crisis is likely to take a short period of time. Her pictures are only in one angle as she is standing. They are not as many and controversial as those of Desire Luzinda. In one of the nude pictures, Musician Desire Luzinda posed with an inverted victory sign which just prolonged the crisis. People especially celebrities posed the same way and re-posted hilariously. The most important assignment as a PR consultant would be to get her side of the story. This will help separate facts from allegations. I will use the information that is available to develop an effective PR plan. A legal expert should be on board to manage legal aspects of the crisis.

Everyone would not want to be in her shoes. The world is literally throwing stones at her yet she is God’s child. The objective of the PR plan would be to market her as a brand, manage her media relations and build a reputation. Anita Fabiola rushed to issue a statement online. The tone is apologetic which was a wrong approach. It portrays her with low self esteem. PR Crises always test your self esteem. Part of her a statement online raises esteem issues. ‘Much as I am a victim, I feel like I have let you down’. As if she does not belief in herself and needs public approval.
Lots of questions still surround her resignation and alleged sacking theories. Can resignation be  instant? Her statement says she resigned because she wanted a media break. Resignation was uncalled for.NTV and Fabiola could use the moment to grow the numbers of ‘NTV Be my date’ show viewers. Truth is that it is  not Uganda’s most watched show.
The problem with online communication is that you can never take away content from search engines with this tech savvy generation today. People scan hardcopies and share with millions on social media. Screenshots are shared with thousands even before you edit a grammatical error on Facebook or Twitter.Fabiola Anita is also being crucified against her previous statements before the crisis. She allegedly said she has never taken nude pictures of herself. Her statement does not respond to this controversy.
This crisis offers an ocean of opportunities that Fabiola should quickly use to go places. Someone once said that there are a thousand positive things for each negative one. Everything can be taken away from you but no one can take away who you are. Fabiola needs to embark on more activities to show continuity. This is not the time to hide from the Public. It has already made news that Fabiola went partying after the pictures were leaked. Some rebels have been given amnesty and they turn out to serve their nations better. There is little you can do about stopping the dissemination of leaked sextapes and nude pictures. There are serious benefits if you turn crises into publicity stunts for new projects. Launching a music career is a good idea to divert media attention. Ugandan media easily jumps from one discussion to another. This may help Fabiola remain fresh in the minds of the media. Remember Fabiola is  marketing herself for the next Media career. The main discussion about the crisis has been whether Fabiola Anita wears artificial bumsor not. Music platforms will give Fabiola an opportunity to prove that she does not wear fake bums. It will be a great idea to change her stage name to ‘Nurse Bitone’. The breakthrough in music industry would work well with duets. Music should not include kadongo kamu genre if she needs to keep in touch with her former English speaking viewers at NTV. Another activity would be running a lingerie fashion modelling business.Fabiola is a celebrity and people love her. NTV Be my date Facebook account has over 50,000 fans. It is the reason to profit from it
Develop numerous hash tags and petitions. Task your friends to start petitions to get your job back. The harsh tag of #bringbackFabiola is already trending.Photo opportunity tactic would be another fix. Fabiola needs to Stage manage many photo shoots that show a little more flesh. Play the victim about the pictures to win public support and update the world on anything around herself even if it is jogging. Social media posts with pictures get more attention therefore do more selfies. Do not forget to take pictures in a swimming suit to prove to Mary luswata of scoop of scoop show on Urban TV that you have real bums and hips.
The PR plan aims at marketing Fabiola for the next Job. There is need to rely on her connections to get public gigs as an MC. This is meant to build an image of a winner. Dealing with the issue of Job loss can be hard but it’s a time to leak her programme milestones that the public did not know. If media asks her about your job,Fabiola should be  be positive and share the number of shows she has hosted, success stories of couples she hosted, and how long she has been at the former workplace. Depending on the trend of events, PR teams can revise the activities to address emergencies. Sincerity is one thing even a PR person can not fake.

Ugandan Government should draft laws on aerial camera drone technology

Aerial camera drones are non military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that are remotely piloted aircrafts. Drones technology has been deployed for military purposes ever since time in memory but they are now also being used in civil operations. Some companies like Amazon are testing the technology to deliver packages.
Uganda Police in the past announced the ban on importation of aerial camera drones due to security concerns and absence of regulation in the country. Those that had aerial drone cameras before the announcement were asked to register with Uganda Revenue Authority.
Government must move fast on drafting an aerial drone law because they are now part of our day to day activities. A local media house has covered some events like the Kampala Carnival using an aerial drone which takes journalism to another new level. It gave quite unseen aerial view which would not be possible with normal cameras. In two years, Aerial drone usage and manufacturing is expected to triple world over. It is possible that drones will be future Christmas gifts. You can find one online from as low as $79.90 depending on features you need. Aerial drones were used in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi for filming skiing and snowboarding events. They are more flexible than cable-suspended camera systems. In September 2014 drones weighing about 5 kg were used for 3D mapping of the above-ground ruins of the Greek city of Aphrodisias.
Absence of the law will affect innovation in science. Some Ugandan universities and organisations had already started working on drone projects. Last year African Space Research Programme (ASRP) amazed Ugandans when they launched a drone made in Uganda. This Ugandan drone has two cameras, a custom-made autopilot system, GPS instruments and among other things.
Drones are the future of technological advancement for journalism, surveillance of land, filming, agriculture, terrorism, crowd monitoring, fire fighting monitoring, wildlife control, service delivery, and security. They may be great in traffic flow monitoring. South Africa is piloting a similar project. Aerial Drones can reduce cost of traffic flow management. Imagine money that goes into deploying traffic officers and fueling their fleets. It was reported in the media that Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) plans to secure drones to help monitor illegal trade in wildlife products. Drones may be the future of hostage and terror attack monitoring to ensure quick response. Rural service provision especially delivery of packages or service like internet. In some counties domestic drones are deployed to provide wireless internet service. Aerial drones can boost farming through aerial surveying of crops and animals.
Government can raise revenue through aerial camera drone. Usage of Aerial camera drones for commercial usage must attract a permit. This can be a source of revenue for government on top of the taxes upon importation.
There is need to regulate drone usage to safety guard privacy concerns not a ban. These low flying equipments that may not be detected by radar system hence risk on security installations. The regulation will also help with highlighting the permissible uses and allowed types of drones for government and private agencies. The laws can regulate drone usage, drone capacity, what time to fly them and who can fly them and where to fly them. Security forces must also be required to have a warrant if they are to fly drones in private and public places. Drones can be combined with other forms of technology which poses more specific risks in absence of a law. The Aerial drones’ law can go extra mile to cover military drones.
